- The Storytellers Inc. provides services in three areas. Please follow the links below to find descriptions of these services and a portfolio of past contracts.
1. Artistic Education - Our organization specializes in taking your important community issue (health, environment, literacy, ect) and packaging it in a creative multimedia fashion so that it is relevant and meaningful to your client. The following two projects are examples of our capabilities.
AXIS
AXIS is an artistic curriculum created by
The Storytellers Inc. for use in middle and high school classrooms and after school programs.All lesson plans include the targeted standards, a script, criteria for evaluation, and assessment tools. AXIS stands apart from most packaged curriculum - not only is it illustrated with local artwork, all supplies needed for 30 students are included in the box.
"Flash 20/12 and Your Super Grill"
Oral Health Education that is totally different than any known project to get Kansas City urban core youth to take care of their teeth. It’s flashy, unorthodox, and off the hook. Working with a team of high school students, Storytellers Inc., Artist Collective and ArtsTech- A Center for Youth Enterprise will create an oral health focused comic book and DVD that is interesting and relevant to middle school youth. Funded by the REACH Healthcare Foundation, this project is a research-based and effective approach to actively engage 2000 middle school youth in practicing good oral hygiene; learning why this is a lifetime activity. Providing 400 students with free access to a dentist, “Flash 20/12 –N- Your Super Grill” is focused on helping students find a new dental home and appreciation for natural bling.
- 2. Public Art and Design Studio
- Our professional artists create in all mediums such as murals, sculpture, music, video, graphic presentations, ad design, book publishing, and printed designs onto various mediums such as tile, carpet and awards.
- 3. Interactive Art
- The Storytellers Inc. creates interactive art experiences for all ages in the form of workshops, trainings, or public events. Contact us for your next event's needs.
